You can do hard things! Maybe you haven’t outwardly voiced this, but chances are you’ve told yourself you can’t. I’ve recently started doing “just one more”. Today it was “just one more” run up the hill, which turned into a few more and exponentially increased the confidence I have in my ability to do hard things.
You Can Do Hard Things
Chances are you’ve set subconscious limits to every area of your life that you haven’t even considered. A great exercise to eliminate these subconscious limits is to write ‘em out. Sit down with a pen and blank piece of paper and divide it into 4. In each square right out an area of your life..
- Spiritual
- Physical
- Mental
- Emotional
Or whatever topics ring most true to you. Then break them down into a few subtopics of unperceived limits you’ve set. For instance “I could never run this far.” Or “I could never learn how to do this…” and then underneath those subtopics add an action step. Just a small (specific) step towards showing yourself you can and you will. It may look like this:
Mental
- I’m not a morning person.
- Tomorrow I will get up at 5am.
Showing yourself you can do something you’ve told yourself you can’t is an amazing feeling and only the beginning of becoming your best self.
Posting this today is my action step towards beginning to share information I believe people will find helpful. I’ve told myself “I’m not an expert so I shouldn’t share anything..” for a very long time. Some of the most influential information I’ve gleaned over the years wasn’t from “experts” but everyday people who’ve done things that worked and shared them. So, here we go…
What are some lies you’ve told yourself? What are the actions steps you’ve taken to overcome them?
