Hawaiian Roll Sliders

It’s that time of year when after school activities are picking up, and the time you have to actually make a hot meal dwindles significantly. These Hawaiian Roll Sliders are a perfect busy night dinner for us! You can use ham and cheese, or any meat/cheese combo you like and this recipe will still work like a charm. I’d actually like to see what a little Hawaiian Roll Muffaletta would look like.. Gonna have to give that a try at some point.

You can assemble these ahead of time and then just pop ’em in the oven when you get home! Make sure you cover them with foil so the ham and cheese are able to fully heat and melt before the tops get too brown. There are a billion versions of this type of recipe online, but this is how I make ’em for my girls. Adding mayonnaise to the inside of the roll gives it an extra melty effect. I do the same with grilled cheese sandwiches, so good. You know what would be really good with these? Some homemade pickles!

I wish I had taken better pictures of these, but I was in the zone. The picture below is before they went into the oven. You can choose to let them sit and absorb the liquid a bit before baking them, or pop ’em right in. Being that this is such a simple recipe you can very easily mix it up, play around with adding various spices etc!
